Vega Cutting Tools
Yamazen’s proprietary product line began in1973. Vega Taps are known for their high-quality, long-lasting, durability, wide range of tapping geometries and sizes that will assure the proper threading and tapping results are achieved. Vega Tap stands alone in quality and performance; offering a selection of tool coatings allows for successful results in a variety of material applications. Best known for their extremely durable and consistent taps, Vega Tool stands as a brand of choice for metalworkers tapping across a variety of industries and metal compositions. Vega Tool offers both spiral fluted and spiral pointed taps, each in unique geometries with coating options to suit numerous applications. Metals included for recommended use include 17 – 4 PH, stainless steel and other common steel alloys, nickel alloys, carbon steel, cast iron and ductile iron.

Featured Products
XEN Taps
These HSS Powdered Metal Taps are manufactured by combining H.S.S. particles with super metal micro particles. They have balanced properties that give the tap, hardness, heat absorption and resistance to abrasion.
The XEN taps are designed for use in Stainless Steels such as 17-4, Titanium, Nickel Based Alloys and can all be used in tool steels. They feature a steam oxide coating for enhanced lubricity. Depending on the style, they are available from 2–56 to 3/4"–16 in inch sizes andM3x0.5 to M12x1.75 in metric sizes.

XHP Taps
These HSSE-V Taps are made with a Vanadium enriched High Speed Steel substrate which improves the heat resistance. of the substrate. The XHP Taps are designed for use in Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, but also works great in Alloy Steel, and Non-Ferrous Ductile Iron. Depending not the style the taps are available with TiN or steam oxide surface treatments. Steam Oxide prevents chip building, galling and welding on the workpiece. It's preferred for use on low carbons, stainless steel and ferrous metals. The Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating is a multi-purpose coating which increases chip flow in softer materials. The heat and hardness resistance allows the tool to run at higher speeds than uncoated tools. Depending on the style, they are available from 2–56 to 2"– 4.5 and metric sizes from M3x0.5 to M24x3.

XET Taps
These HSS Powdered Metal Taps are designed for use in Titanium, Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloys and feature a nitride coating for enhanced lubricity. HSS Powdered metal is high speed steel base that has a finer grain structure. This results in better wear, chip resistance and overall strength characteristics that can be designed for the sharped edge required in threading exotic materials including nickel alloys such as Inconel, Hastalloy and Waspalloy, Titanium alloys including 6AL4V and various high strength alloy steels such as A-286, 4140, 4340 and 8620 steels
